The Fundraising Brief
The prestigious Ransom Everglades School in Miami came to me with a problem: They were lagging in a modern world that engages predominantly with screens and were struggling to connect with prospective donors and potential enrollments. They were also struggling to maintain positive public relations with their local community, which skeptically questioned the value of such an elite, exclusive institution in the local neighborhood.
We have an ambitious and lengthy series of videos shot over two school years due to the seasonal nature of school sports, activities, programs, and the availability of staff, students, and alumni. We shot over 50 interviews, and terabytes of B-roll ranging from classroom lectures to DIY robots, and even went out into the Everglades for a couple of excursions.
Through our videos, we highlighted the multitude of charitable causes hosted by the students and staff, as well as the diverse, intellectual, creative, and athletic outlets the students adopt to broaden their horizons. They were shot in a corporate documentary style featuring well-lit multicam interviews and cinematic b-roll.
